The US Census Bureau released data on March 17, including information from its five-year estimates of the annual community survey for 2016-2020. According to the office, the pandemic has caused disruptions in data collection and the office has revised its methodology to reduce bias resulting from nonresponse in 2020.
Compared to the five-year estimates from 2015, the data shows an overall increase in population, a decrease in unemployment and an increase in median household income.
According to the five-year estimates from 2015 and 2020, the population has increased in all ZIP codes of Conroe, Willis and Montgomery.
The majority of ZIP codes in Montgomery, Willis, and Conroe have unemployment rates below the national rate, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s unemployment estimates for 2020. Compared to 2015, the majority of ZIP codes saw lower unemployment in 2020.
All ZIP Codes in Montgomery, Willis, and Conroe have seen increases in median household income from 2015 to 2020, and most ZIP Codes have median household income above the national median.
