How Population Has Changed in Louisville-Area Cities
America is changing: Census shows greater diversity than ever
The 2020 census marks the first time in American history that the white population has experienced a decline. Here’s what that means for the future.

More than 100 cities and towns dot Jefferson County and the surrounding Louisville metropolitan area.
Since the last US census in 2010, their populations have shifted alongside Kentucky’s largest city.
While some have grown, others have declined in population.

Mount Washington in Bullitt County, for example, doubled in size from 9,000 residents to just over 18,000.
Meanwhile, a small town — South Park View in southern Jefferson County — that reported seven residents in 2010 recorded zero in 2020.
